pg_cmdtuples

Name

pg_cmdtuples — Determines the number of affected records.

Synopsis

int pg_cmdtuples(result); int result: Result identifier

Returns

Number of affected tuples

Description

This function is similar to the MySQL function mysql_affected_rows() . It returns the number of tuples affected by the SQL query INSERT, UPDATE, or DELETE.

Example

Example 1025. Display affected rows

$db = pg_connect("host=dbserver dbname=db user=dbuser password=dbpasswd");
$result = pg_exec($db,"DELETE FROM employees WHERE age>65");
echo "Retired employees removed: ", pg_cmdtuples($result);
