mssql_select_db

Name

mssql_select_db — Selects a database to query.

Synopsis

bool mssql_select_db(database[, conn]);
string database: Database name
int conn (optional): Connection ID

Returns

TRUE on success, FALSE on failure

Description

Selects the default Microsoft SQL database on the Microsoft SQL server. Instead of specifying the database to query each time, the database is specified once and used throughout the script. This function is used with mssql_query() . If the optional connection ID is not specified, the database is assumed to be the database specified on the current connection ID.

Example

Example 783. Select default database

$db = @mssql_connect("server","sa","password") or die("Unable to connect to server");
mssql_select_db("pubs");
$result = mssql_query("SELECT * FROM authors");
