ifx_affected_rowsDescriptionThis function should be used with caution when used with SELECT queries as it only returns an estimate of the number of rows that will be returned from the query when used after ifx_prepare() and before ifx_do() . Having said that, the function can be used after ifx_prepare() to get the number of rows if you do need the functionality.. For INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE queries, this function behaves as normal and accurately returns the number of rows that were inserted, updated or deleted by the SQL query.
ExampleExample 552. Count deleted records function print_error($text) { echo "There was an error reported by the database.\n"; echo "Error reported was: $text"; die(); } if (!$conn = @ifx_connect( "stores7@demo_se", "testuser", "password" )) { print_error(ifx_errormsg()); } if (!$result = @ifx_prepare("DELETE FROM customer WHERE company LIKE '%City%'", $conn)) { print_error(ifx_errormsg()); } else { printf("Query is threatening to delete %d row(s)", ifx_affected_rows($result)); ifx_do($result); printf("Query deleted %d row(s)", ifx_affected_rows($result)); }
