Memory usage?
On my system I operate with one gigabyte of memory but it is inclined to form heaps of temp files that need to be cleaned up because it slows down a heap.
So to try and work around it, I have just increased he servers memory to two gigabytes. Linux can see the size correctly but my manegment consol still shows memory usaage to be around 90% even after doubling the memory. So as soon as it starts to index websites or getting heaps of searches it starts to slow down and forms the temp files in the RAID array. So has anyone else ever had this problem? Does Linux need to be setup in a special way to enable phpdig to run from memory better? A Chron job reports to me the following: /tmp/_6708_126_27.wrk needs to be removed. /tmp/_6526_120_21.wrk needs to be removed. /tmp/_6069_128_29.wrk needs to be removed. /tmp/_9884_101_2.wrk needs to be removed. So I have to SSH and delete the named files... So if anyone has any advice I would be glad to hear from you. Heaps of regards Dave A P.S. would it be okay to clear out the whole of the TMP folder of all files stored inside? |
