How to include just the text field from search form?

Hy everybody,

I've tried to understood phpdig, but I failed because my knowledge about xml are limited. In fact they are NULL .
Still I want to include the functionality of phpdig in my site, as a search field text only at the top of every pages. How do I acomplish this?
Could anybody give me an example of a page that have just an text search field and associated GO button? Or redirect me to a topic were this problem is already solved?
