Simple way of inserting a search form

Hi,

First of all, I want to say big "merci" to the creator(s) of this great program, it's really good!

I want to put just one search input line on the main page of my site. What is a simple way of doing this? I don't want to creat a special template, rather, I would just put in one line, that takes the search query and sends it to PHPDig, which then gives results out on my standard search (and search results) template. I hope I made it clear...

Hi. Do you mean take the form at http://www.waytorussia.net/search/ and have the form on the main page? If so, just copy the HTML form from http://www.waytorussia.net/search/ and change 'index.php' to 'http://www.waytorussia.net/search/index.php' and it should work.

Ok, thank you Charter, but I didn't mean that. However, I found the answer on the main page of this site (in html source).

Here it is:


<form action='search/index.php' method='get'>
<input type='hidden' name='template_demo' value='simple.html'/>
<input type='hidden' name='result_page' value='index.php'/>
<input name='query_string' type='text' class='liwords' value='russian visa' size="15"/>
<input class='liwords' type='submit' name='search' value='Search'/>

</form>


That's it. You can also add various parameters.

Oh, yeah, and of course you should changes the path (in form tag and in "template_demo" and in "result_page") to your local paths...
