Problem with indexing

Hello everyone!

I have installed the phpdig onto my local machine.
Installation was succesful, but if i enter the localhost address in the
admin/index.php phpdig was not able to index this.

It shows some information like this:
Total hosts : 1
Total index: 0

Now if i goto search.php page there in the 'show sites' i am not able to
see the site address which i have given. If i give any text to search it will
return simply saying 'so results found'.

I don't where i am going wrong. I am just a newcomer to this.

Please please can any one help me in this regard.

Thanx in advance

Well I would suggest that you try to index a website, pick one at r****m and then check to see if it is functioning correctly.
When you are trying to index your local host are you giving the spider an IP address or are you typing "Localhost?"
It may be worth sending the spider into the IP address of your PC then it may work and index it for you.

Then I would if I were you try to index another website, pick one that comes to mind and then try to index it and see if you get the same results?
If the machine is connected to the web then it should just send the spider out and you should be able to see the results that come back.
It can be deleted from the database quite easy but it will act as a good test.

I am wondering if you have a firewall running that may be causing the spider a problem. If you try to visit your local host using your browser does the site display normally?
Have a try by using your browser and typing the local host address to see if it's the site setup.
