Error 404 Continuous on re-index

I have indexed my site, but when I try to re-index it by clicking on 'Update Form' in the Admin panel, I get this:

Spidering in progress...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SITE : http://www.mysitehere.com/
Exclude paths :
- @NONE@
Error 404

Error 404

Error 404
(time : 00:00:45)

... and so on...

It's my first re-index, and it's been about 4 days since I first installed and spidered.

I've seen a reference to LIMIT_DAYS so I've set it to zero.
define('LIMIT_DAYS',0);

Why would I be getting this problem on all my pages?

Does it give you any URLs for the 404s it's getting? Also, it would help if you posted the link to the site you're trying to re-index.

No, that's the only code it replies...It just keeps doing that over and over.

The site is soundcedar.com/search/

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, but I had something hosed on my site's phpdig.

I tried just now indexing a few pages from your site, then stopped the spider, unlocked the site, then updated on your site. No problems.

I'm not sure what's happening, but what I'd suggest is emptying all your phpdig tables and spidering fresh. That has seemed to get quite a few people out of a pickle (including me!). You probably won't have to do that every time you spider you site, only this once.

Let us know if that helps.

Thanks Vinyl,

The only way I am able to get it to work is delete tables AND files, then upload files from fresh extract...then install, then run spider.php

Big pain in "......"

Also, in the confusion I accidentally deleted my custom HTML template...DOH!

PLEASE let me know if a solution comes around for this...

Hi. Does running the cleanup_engine.php file from the admin panel help?
